Sequel Systems Guarantees "Meaningful Use" Compliance

Melville, N.Y. February 8, 2010. The health information technology component of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (the HITECH Act) has made $44,000 to $64,000 in Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments available to physicians proving meaningful use of an electronic health record (EHR). This month, federal committees are meeting to review certification criteria, incentive program details and other aspects of the meaningful use rules, but how can physician practices be certain that EHR systems already in use, or those to be implemented, will meet the criteria that provides stimulus dollars?

Sequel Systems, Inc., a dynamic, service-oriented healthcare technology company, has issued a guarantee that its Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution will be fully compliant with the guidelines set by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). Additionally, if any modifications must be made to SequelMed fully HIPAA compliant software solution, the company will credit its customers their monthly support fees during the period in which modifications are being made to meet the certification criteria. SequelMed EHR is an all-in-one fully integrated solution that combines the power of Oracle and familiarity of Windows environment into a robust and user-friendly practice management, document management and medical records solution.

Helping our customers provide quality, efficient and accurate patient care is SequelMed top priority. However, a medical practice is also a business, and for many practices meeting the EHR deployment timeline set by the federal government is a financial strain, said Irfan Iqbal, Director of Medical Informatics at SequelMed. Sequel Systems is issuing this guarantee to ensure that our customers are able to achieve the maximum stimulus incentives to offset their costs, while experiencing the patient care and workflow benefits offered by SequelMed EHR.
