Melville, NY (November 2, 2009) — Sequel Systems was recognized as a finalist for Long Island Business News 2009 Health Care Heroes Awards in the category of Achievements in Health Care. Health Care Heroes is an award program produced by Long Island Business News.

Sequel Systems, founded in 1995, is a dynamic medical software company offering hospitals, health organizations, physician practices and billing companies electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) solutions.

As a leading healthcare IT provider, Sequel Systems is a certified EHR and EMR software solutions vendor by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) and is a participant in the Electronic Health Records Partners Program (EPP) offered through the American College of Physicians’ (ACP) Center for Practice Improvement and Innovation. Sequel Systems was also a finalist for the Hauppauge Industrial Association’s Business Achievement Awards in September 2009.

SequelMed, Sequel Systems’ flagship product, is an enterprise-wide medical practice management and EHR software solution designed to meet the needs of solo practitioners, group practices, managed services organizations (MSOs), central billing offices (CBOs), physician hospital organizations (PHO), healthcare receivable financing organizations (No Fault and Workers Compensation) and integrated healthcare delivery systems. A true client-server and e-commerce application, SequelMed was designed using highly advanced and powerful development tools. The flexibility of this open-architecture database allows users to generate virtually any report desired.

“We are honored to be a finalist for this prestigious award,” said Irfan Iqbal, Director of Medical Informatics, Sequel Systems. “We would like to thank the Long Island Business News for recognizing us at this level.”
